#ethnicraftathome : Novia and Erico
In our first episode of #ethnicrafthome, we would like you to meet Enrico and Novia, our loyal customers and design enthusiasts. Being property agents for fourteen years, they surely know how to transform a house into a home.
Enrico and Novia moved to BSD City after they were married, and since then, they have become permanent residents of the city. Two years ago, they moved to a new house in the center of BSD City. They chose a modern tropical design, and together with an architect, they built their dream house. With a high ceiling, big kitchen, all rooms facing the front, and swimming pool in the center of the house, they finally settled into the house of their dreams.
After building the perfect house, finding the right furniture was the next step. "Since it's a modern tropical style, we need some wood furniture to fill this house," said Enrico when Ethnicraft visited them. "We came to almost every furniture store in Jakarta in a quest to find the perfect pieces. We had many things to consider: price, quality, durability, solidity, and clean lines. Basically, everything," Novia added. After grueling hours of furniture-hunting, they decided to fill most of their space with Ethnicraft pieces.
In the comfortable living room, we found the teak Frame TV cupboard housing every single entertainment unit. It is important to have the TV at eye-level, and this cupboard positioned their TV at the right height. The teak Burger coffee table completed this room, giving extra storage so that the living room always looked neat.
At the back of the U-shaped sofa, there was a spacious dining room, with the teak Old dining table as focal point. "This table may be my favorite piece," said Novia. The dining table served as a center piece not only for the dining room, but for the entire house. "We really like these dining chairs. They're really durable but not too heavy," added Novia, describing the teak B1 chairs.
One of the highlights of Enrico and Novia's house was their swimming pool. Located at the center of the house, the area was a refreshing oasis. The family spent many relaxing moments by the pool, lounging on the teak N2 lounge chairs next to the teak Tripod side table.
Going inside the master bedroom, the green wall immediately greeted us with its refreshing color. Green is considered the most restful color for the eye--it encourages relaxation, yet has enough warmth to promote comfort and togetherness.
When we opened the door, we were welcomed by the three-door teak Frame sideboard, placed in the foyer. This was not the only sideboard in the room, as the three-door teak Frame sideboard with three drawers was also placed in front of the master bed to serve as TV cupboard. Using a sideboard instead of a regular TV console is the right choice when you have taller bed instruments. Enrico and Novia have the taller teak Burger bed and teak Burger bedhead in the bedroom, so the Frame sideboard was perfect to complement the bed instruments. To complete the room, they positioned the teak Burger nightstands at both sides of the bed.
There were so many Ethnicraft products in this house, so we were surprised when the couple said that Ethnicraft was not their first choice of furniture. "We usually prefer furniture with Duco finishing, and we were unfamiliar with the more natural Ethnicraft product." They gradually became interested in Ethnicraft after learning of the brand's "back to nature" concept. "We learned that Ethnicraft's wood furniture does not require varnish. As time goes by, the natural oil will make its way to the surface and the color will change according to its environment. We found it fascinating and unique," said Novia. "We really appreciate Ethnicraft products. They are simple, natural, durable, and have clean lines. And the store always put ribbons on the furniture when delivering them to our house. It's a nice touch, and makes me feel like I'm receiving a special gift," concluded Novia.
